This is a personal portfolio site with some interactive art built in. It is provided as-is, for fun, with no warranty of any kind. Don't abuse it, don't try to break it for other visitors, and we'll get along fine.
SMS & voice program — "HAL calls you back"
These terms apply only if you ask HAL (an interactive art easter egg) to call your phone. At a glance:

- reply STOP — that number is never texted or called again, permanently (reply START to lift it)
- Eligibility
- US numbers only · enter only a number you own or are authorized to use
- Consent is optional: the entire site works without ever entering a phone number. You may decline at any point.
- The voice call is gated: it begins with a neutral automated prompt identifying it as an automated call from the HAL 9000 art project at ianclaird.com. Nothing further plays unless you press 1 to accept; silence ends the call.
- Verification protects you: the code proves the request came from the person holding the phone — nobody can point HAL at someone else's number.
- Delivery: messaging and calling are delivered via Twilio. Carriers (e.g. AT&T, T-Mobile, Verizon) are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
- Your number's privacy: never stored in readable form, never shared; details in the privacy policy.
Everything else
The games, the terminal, and the AI conversations are entertainment. AI-generated responses (HAL is played by a language model) can be wrong, weird, or in character — don't rely on them for anything. All content © Ian Laird.
